Working on the Green-Schools programme has been a fantastic experience. For the past five years I have been blown away by the positivity, the enthusiasm and great work being done in schools all across Ireland. I work from my hometown, Tralee in Co. Kerry, as a Green-Schools Officer and team leader for the Munster area. I also oversee the Biodiversity theme. I studied Biodiversity Conservation in Wales for 3 years and in 2003 I moved to Sweden for another two years to complete a Masters in Biology. Following my studies I travelled and worked in various fields. I have enjoyed working on various environmental volunteer projects in different countries. Most recently I spent six weeks in the Ecuadorian Rainforests conducting biological surveys with Global Vision International. I have always loved the outdoors, I spend much of my free time hiking in the mountains or walking the beaches. Working on the Green-Schools programme means I also get to spend all my working hours talking about the environment and watching schools come up with fantastic ways of protecting it.
