Once we have received your application and are happy that we have sufficient information, an Assessment Visit will be conducted.
A Green Flag Assessment Visit is informal, and it involves showing the assessor your Green-Schools programme first-hand. Pupils and students should be involved in every aspect of the visit as much as is possible.
During the visit, the Assessor will conduct the following:
Meet with the Green-Schools Committee and Co-ordinator and discuss the programme
See evidence of the Green-Schools programme in action
Tour of the school (and grounds, if applicable)
Meet with class groups and non-Committee members in the school
See evidence of whole-school involvement
The Assessor will then send an Assessment Report to the Green-Schools Head Office. From your application and the Assessment Report a decision will be made on whether or not to grant your school the Green Flag.
