Once the school has been awarded your Green Flag, you will need to renew the award every two years thereafter. To do this successfully, you will need to show that you have maintained implementation of your previous themes and built on this by integrating your new theme into your Green-Schools programme. e.g. schools that have been awarded their Green Flag for their achievements on Litter and Waste should be able to show that they have also integrated aspects of the Energy theme into their original programme. Similarly the themes of Water, Travel, Biodiversity, Citizenship, and Climate Change will be integrated into your programme when it comes to renewing your Green Flag in subsequent years.
