News - Over 2,000 Green Flags Now Flying
Congratulations to all the schools that recently received their first Green-Flag or renewed their Green-Flags at the recent Green-Flag Award ceremonies in Letterkenny, Athlone, Dublin, Kilkenny, Cork and Galway. There are now over 2,000 schools flying the Green-Flag in Ireland.

Recent research on the economic value of the Green-Schools programme to schools in Ireland has revealed that the programme has saved schools in Ireland a minimum 2 million euro in waste, electricity, water and fuel costs this year. more>>

The Green-Schools Office and ESB Independent Energy operate the Green Energy Project for Schools. The project involves schools that are undertaking the Energy Theme and businesses working together to develop and exchange energy efficient solutions to their operations. Repak have developed a carbon calculator for schools. This web based programme will allow you to easily input your schools recycling and waste data along with water and energy consumption to produce an overall carbon foot print report for your school. To try it out click here
